ZENBEVERAGES … RECIPES FOR RELAXATION
Make Zenbev part of your relaxing bedtime ritual with one of these sweet concoctions.
Zenbev Horchata: A sweet, milky bedtime drink with the cinnamon and vanilla
flavor of Mexico. Mix 8 oz. of Rice Dream Horchata Nondairy Beverage with one scoop
of Zenbev. Add a shake of grated cinnamon and serve in a tall glass.
Zenbev Faux-jito: Crush 2 Tbsp. fresh mint leaves in the bottom of a glass with one
scoop Zenbev powder and the juice of half a lime. Add 8 oz. Santa Cruz Organic
Limeade and a splash of sparkling water. Taste for sweetness. ¡Arriba!
Zenbev Cherry Limeade: A soda fountain
favorite. Mix 2 oz. R.W. Knudsen Just Black
Cherry Juice with one scoop Zenbev powder in a
tall glass. Add 3 oz. Santa Cruz Organic Limeade
and 3 oz. sparkling water. Serve with a straw!
Zenbev Fruit Smoothie: Start with a cup of
cut-up, peeled, soft fruit, fresh or frozen – berries,
banana, melon, peach, citrus. Add a scoop of
Zenbev powder, 1 tsp. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
and a couple of ice cubes. (Omit the ice cubes if
you’re using frozen fruit.) Puree in the blender
and sweeten to taste with sugar, honey, maple
syrup or agave nectar. Thin with apple juice to the texture you like.
Herbal Tea with Zenbev: Make a cup of your favorite caffeine-free herbal tea and
stir in a scoop of Zenbev powder. We like it with Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger,
Republic of Tea Ginger Peach Decaffeinated Tea and plain chamomile.
Tasting Notes
Zenbev drink mix doesn’t dissolve in liquid because the active ingredient, tryptophan
from pumpkin seed flour, is still in its intact protein state to more effectively cross the
blood-brain barrier and convert to melatonin to put you to sleep. If the texture bothers
you, just add more liquid to dilute the powder. Or, if you’re avoiding liquid before bed,
try mixing Zenbev with yogurt, applesauce, cooked fruit or even jam.
Its light, natural lemon flavor mixes well with almost anything. You’re limited only by
your personal tastes and your imagination.
